Shift plan limits
Shift plan limits limit the values entered in the Shift Plan so that it is possible, for example, to restrict the entry of more shifts than allowed by legislation or company guidelines.
This avoids the situation that an employee has more shifts scheduled than is allowed.
System rules
These two rules are automatically set in the system so that the status corresponds to the legislation.
- Continuous rest - the user must have at least 35h of rest between shifts within 7 consecutive days.
- Rest between shifts - the user must have at least 12h off within every 24h.
If these rules are not followed, a warning will be displayed in the Shift Plan at the bottom right of the Validation section.
Shift plan limits can be freely set as required
- Type: type of limit used.
- Default value: specific value or numeric value, number of days or hours.
- Restart each: shift schedule limit interval.
Types and their meaning
- Number of shifts: you can limit the number of scheduled shifts in a set time interval (day, week, month, quarter, half year, year).
- Number of overlapping shifts: you can limit the number of overlapping shifts in a given time interval.
- Sum of shift durations: If the sum of shift lengths exceeds, for example the weekly working time (which is set for the employee in the HR agenda), the system evaluates the situation as exceeding the limit.
- Rest between shifts: it is already preset in the basic settings according to the legislation - the user must have at least 12 hours of rest within every 24 hours.
- Continuous rest every X consecutive days: it is already preset by default according to the legislation - the user must have at least 35h of rest between shifts within 7 consecutive days.
